Setup Guide for Geolocation popup

This guide will help you set up intelligent redirection to ensure your visitors are always directed to the most relevant localized version of your store.

Step 1: Activation of the Geolocation functionality

  1. Go to the Geolocation page -> Geolocation settings tab.
  2. Toggle the Enable the Geolocation popup switch to ON.
  3. Important: Once enabled, make sure to disable Shopify's native automatic redirection settings (Shopify Admin > Preferences > Automatic redirection settings). This prevents conflicts and ensures a smoother user experience.

Step 2: Enable the App Embed Block in your themes

For the popup to appear on your storefront, it must be activated within the Theme Editor for each connected store:

  1. Stay on the Geolocation page -> Geolocation settings tab.
  2. In the Popup embed block status table, click the "Enable popup" link next to the desired stores.
  3. You will be redirected to the Shopify Theme Editor. In the App embeds tab, toggle on theHM Geo Popup block.
  4. Click Save in the Theme Editor.
  5. Return to the app and click the Refresh icon to update the status (it should turn green - Active).

Step 3: Configure display logic

In the Popup display logic section, choose the settings that best fit your strategy:

  1. When to show
  2. Show again after closure
  3. Show after (Delay)

Step 4: Visual Customization (in Theme Editor)

The last step is to adapt the Geolocation Popup to your general store’s design. To customize its texts, form, background, and other settings, follow the next steps:

  1. Navigate to your Theme Editor.
  2. Tap the App Embeds in the right sidebar menu.
  3. Find the HM Geo Popup block and tap on it.
  4. Configure all of the necessary settings.
  5. Repeat the flow for all the stores, where you enabled the Geolocation Popup by HM.
